A Black Feather Falling into the Abyss
1 – Raising the Oceanic Alpha-Wave
Hooded forms of venerable wizards, outlined in the phosphorescent glow of subterranean fungal-flowers. In the Cavern of Abominations, the summoning begins. Thick, oily water laps at the rotting wharf by their cloven feet; the susurrant stream carries the forms of aborted homunculi down into the intestinal depths of the earth.
2 – The Star-Sower Awakens
Beyond the dark circle of the menhirs, in the depths of arctic night, coated in a thick, gleaming caul of ice, the faceless maggot squirms and become the Magus. Above, the light of the polar star ARKTOS glitters evilly, like the eye of a hungry ghoul.
3 – Mana Infusion
Vinum Sabbati seethes within the white-hot chalice and is vaporised in an instant. The kali-shakti arches backwards, revealing her retromingency - and the introverted pathway which leads to the Portal of Daath.
4 – Black Tongue – Translucent Mind
Rough tongue rasps the language of Ixaxaar. A wrinkled, reptilian hand caresses the smooth, unblemished white skin of the sacrifice. Fireflies crawl in the humid night. An exhalation; the breath of the fire-snake.
5 – A Banquet for Ghosts
White calcium deposits litter the underground Temple of the Black-Isis, beneath El Festat. Her Children lick at the salty remains.
6 – The Bone-Orchard
Seared upon the pyre of the Solar Lodge, the Priestess of the Scorpion smiles back from the magic mirror: an invitation to join her kundalini-raptures.
7 – Secrets Concealed in Ash
Concealed within the grimoire of a cremated Ipsissimus. Revealed within the wind-blown arabesques of annihilation.
8 – Language of Embers
Sixty strokes of the whip, lashes leaving a palimpsest of Qliphothic poetry upon blood-streaked skin-parchment.
9 – Quickening the Crystal Body
Congealed within a crystal globe, god-forms from beyond the wall of sleep cast a flickering shadow-play in shades of ultramarine and chartreuse
10 – The Vitric Portal
A broken fingernail scrapes at the radioactive slime which has dried into a hard, opaque residue around the opening of the orifice, teeming with tiny white lice, shimmering with corpse-light.
11 – Labyrinth of a Thousand Lanterns
The corridors of cypress-trees, festooned with the crawling, insectivorous lanterns of Mardi-Noire, mirrored in the waters of the bayou. Between the interstices of these endless waterways, sub-aquatic crossroads teem with batrachian offspring. It is the Night of the Deep Ones.
12 – Lotus of the Underworld
Meaty petals unfold; within leafy whorls of flesh and moist black hair, the ultimate secretion: a blood-red ruby – the quintessential elixir.
13 – Silver River
Passing by the Black Tower of Koth, the silver tongue of the frozen river makes silent obsequies to the lunar Child in the cradle of Chorazin.
14 – Nether-Desert Iris
The eye of Set opens: darkness visible. Necro-negative daguerreotypes - peeled black they reveal a thick coating of ectoplasm. The checkerboard floor of the Temple rears up to meet the shattered cranium.
15 – Obsidian Pyramid
Under a silken, yellow mask, the blunt snout of the Elder Pharos curls in a sneer of ivory fangs. The entrance to His sarcophagus is constricted so that only a scarab beetle may pass in or out.
16 – Beacons in the Polar Night
From the unimaginable heights above the fastness of Kadath, the X-ray-searchlights of the Watchtower fan out across the abyss, mirrored in the shells of the Qliphoth, aeons below.
17 – Dissolving the Starlit-Mandala
Beyond a wavering, translucent vein of stars, the figures of the Elder Avatars writhe and converge: an eldritch sarabande which binds together the Qabbalahs of Besqul. The seals are broken open; an icy wind blows in from the other side of the Tree.
18 – (Silent)
MIRRORION: a black feather, fallen from the Aethyr into the Abyss.
